i went to a rave this halloween! geselle finally came around and told me she wanted to go to redline's blood rave on the 31st. after some convincing mom said she'd allow me to go only if she drove us. she ended up letting me drive after seeing how far north the venue was.
i dressed up as a dark pixie in a mini skirt, black tank top, sheer shawl with a sequin butterfly on it, black boots and iridescent wings from amazon. geselle dressed up as a vampire and we got ready together on facetime. thanks to geselle's input i was able to do my best eye makeup ever. we originally planned to leave at 9, get there at 10 then leave to go eat at a ramen place that closes at 1:30. but we ran late and left at 10. when we got there, we decided to leave our coats in the car since there wouldn't be a coat check inside. i do have to admit it was not our brightest idea and we ended up shivering for the whole 6 minute walk. when we got there the guy outside asked our ages and we got the infamous X's on our hands (both) then inside one the workers confiscated my owala and said they would keep it in the booth till i come back out (so we could've brought our coats😭)
anyways, the venue was an old theater so the floor was titled, i narrowly avoiding toppling over the entire night. we ended up getting very close to the stage with little effort and stayed in the same area the entire time. we weren't as squished together as i'd thought we'd be, i think the wings really helped with that. speaking of wings i saw a black guy dressed as a butterfly and we actually were next to each other in the crowd for a bit. i lowkey wanted to take a pic but i wasn't that comfortable in the crowd yet. the music was fire and mostly everyone in the crowd was cool. we left at like 1:30 then headed to a 24-hour diner. i had pancakes and geselle had a philly cheesesteak wrap.
on the drive home(3:30 am), i dozed multiple times...after dropping geselle off i had to keep the light on and play rap music to make sure i stayed awake.
