shopping w/ the girls 9/15/24

late asl on saturday night i got a facetime call from steph and geselle. steph planned on going out to orland and tinley to search for this trending juicy couture tote and wanted us to come with her. now that i'm thinking about it she probably just wanted me to drive her (she has an irrational fear of driving long distances) our schedules miraculously lined up and we were all going to be free on sunday.

the next morning we got up early and headed out to stan's donuts in orland. it was my first time ever having stan's and i really enjoyed it. i got a savory spinach and feta pastry with a strawberry matcha. after that we headed over marshalls to search for the bag. she didn't find the tote there but found another juicy bag she liked more so we were done with the juicy search. then we went into barnes & noble so i could find This Ravenous Fate by hayley dennings. she's an author who's book journey i'd been following for about 2 years now and it's finally been released. at the moment i'm just going off the premise of 1920's black lesbian vampires so i'm praying that it's good.

then we went into orland mall so i could buy the red sweater i had been thinking about for weeks. i'm honestly proud of myself for putting real thought into a purchase and not just buying it when i had first seen it. we also hit a few other stores like urban, sephora, and coach. i was able to see that viral brooklyn bag in person and contrary to popular belief it's not too big, i think height definitely plays a huge factor in someone's experience with it. finally to end our day off we got lunch at the food court and reminised about the time i almost died while eating a korean corndog.

the end.

sike my dumbass FORGOT that i had picked up a midday shift at the rainbow cone so i had like less than an hour of rest and relaxation before i had to go clock in.

another big update since i can't for the life of me blog regularly

so i got a job :)

i have been working at the original rainbow cone in dyer for about 3 weeks now (including training) and i can't say i'm not enjoying it. my coworkers are nice even though it's a bit awkward being one of the oldest employees since their all high schoolers. i'd say the only downsides of the job are the pay($12.50/hr), the constant bending over, and dishwashing🙄. but besides that i'm enjoying it. i know that because we're a new location that the managers are gonna be on our backs for a bit about running things but i hope they lay off soon. we're allowed to bring one free item home after each shift but they make up ring it up instead of letting us walk out with it like during training. and i get it you don't want anyone stealing but it's not like these mfs give af about food waste anyway. after this semester i plan on applying to library jobs again.

i'm also in my third week of school. everything's good so far i'm up on all of my work so nothing much to write about except geselle and i haven't talked much. our schedules don't match up this semester so i'm not driving her to school anymore. she also hasn't been answering my texts which kinda hurts since i've been wanting to talk about katseye with her but i understand she's busy. she just told me and stephanie that she's working at a pharmacy now and is making $16.50/hr (ughhh luckyy) hoping we can meet up this weekend for lunch at chili's we have so much to catch up on.

i found this book club on twitter and for september they're reading where sleeping girls lie it's a sapphic murder mystery so you know i had to join. i started it yesterday and i'm really feeling it so far. but the library is taking forever to get the physical version to me so i'm reading the digital version rn which isn't horrible but i prefer to have the book in my hands.

also this artist on twitter is getting their art adapted into a tv show. it's being produced by an indie animation studio and some other artists i follow. they're having open auditions for the characters and i'm lowkey considering signing up. idk even know why but i feel like i wouldn't be a half bad voice actor. only the roles of the two main characters are open for audition rn so i have time to think about it(and practice).

saturday with mommyyy

so mom and i had a very busy day. it started with us going to the dmv on 99th street to renew the license plates on my car (which apparently...
